 | There are lessons to teach you how to think as a translator, and exercises to show you that you have preconceived notions that affect what you understand in scripture. Included in these lessons is a section on the four levels of understanding the Bible (Peshat, Remez, Drash and Sod), complete with a few examples of misunderstandings created by not recognizing these four levels. Also there is a section on the seven rules of Hillel which were in extensive use during Yehoshua's day. These rules were also often used by Paul in his writings. Without an understanding of these rules of exegesis, one is likely to completely misunderstand Paul's writings. |
